Everton 2-0 Watford – FA Cup Final 1984
This proved to be a memorable day in Everton football history. Watford began the encounter as the better side, John Barnes had a header saved by Southall early on. Watford captain, Taylor also had two great opportunities well saved within the first half hour. Against the run of play, Graham Sharp put Everton in front with a right foot shot going into the back of the net past Sherwood.
Five minutes into the second half, Everton scored their second of the match as Steven sprinted past two Watford defenders and accurately passed the ball to Andy Gray who slotted in Evertons second. John Barnes created a decent opening late on, however nothing could be made of it and the score line ended 2-0 to Everton.
