This proved to be a fantastic day in the history of the Everton football team. The star man of the day proved to be Joe Royle, he scored four goals in a one sided match. Everton’s world cup winner, Alan Ball, recorded a decent goal which set Everton on their way. The tie also produced a hat trick by David Johnson, which happened to be his first in his career. To this day this is one of Everton’s heaviest victories.
