Brian Labone

Labone joined Everton at the tender age of 17 in the summer of 1957. He was seen by many as being one of the finest central defenders of his period. In total Labone made over 450 league appearances for Everton. His brilliance helped Everton win the league title on two occasions during his spell at the club, 1962-63 and 1969-70. Labone was also an integral part of the England team during the 1970 world cup final. Labone in total spent 13 years playing for the club, between 1958 and 1971.
